Our world is chaotic. Unity is practically non-existent. Crimes against humanity are rampant. Hope is fading. Peace is elusive. So, when will circumstances improve?
Thankfully, a small promise hints at this future time of goodness. “But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” (Psalm 37:11). This season will be different than anything man has experienced since he left his original state of peace. Chaos will flee. Unity will be obvious. Humanity will be kind. Hope will blossom. And peace will be so abundant that it will spread joy.
This season of blissful goodness is often called the kingdom of heaven, a one thousand-year reign of the good King Jesus. As we pray “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” may we hope in this future peace. The peace of that era will be so abundant that humanity will bask in its calm, quietness, and tranquility.
So, how does this future hope for peace impact me today? Today I can guide my life under the anticipation of such joyful peace. Future peace can lift my present spirits and yours too.
