Flourishing

Writer's picture: dawsonchrisanndawsonchrisann

Not frail. Not forlorn. But fresh and fruitful. But is there anything more we can hope for? Are there any dreams left to dream? Any more chances to grow and thrive?

“-they shall be fat and flourishing.” (Psalm 92:14b) In Scripture, fat is not a bad thing, like in our American culture. It implies health, well-being, and plenty. And flourishing is an amazing word: thriving, developing, prospering. This psalmist gives much hope for our future, even in old age.

So, may we not despair as we advance in age! Let’s ask God for an anointing with fresh oil. Let’s be courageous enough to bear fruit. And let us embrace our opportunities to be fat and flourishing.
