Sigh. Yes, I am old. I’m old enough to be seriously considering slowing down, winding down my life goals, and contemplating my heavenly home. But even in old age, we have great hope for the chances to pursue our lifelong dreams.
“They shall still bring forth fruit in old age.” (Psalm 92:14a) Is it possible that the anointing with fresh oil sparked a fresh hope for significance and growth? This psalmist says yes! Fruit-bearing in the latter years is entirely possible and very likely through a work of God.
So, can I bring forth fruit in my old age? Can I still dream, work, and accomplish? Can lifelong goals still be attained? Yes!
