Proverbs 11:5 continues, “The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.”
We grieve. Our hearts grieve for the slaughter of the innocent. We cry because justice seemed so delayed. Rescue feels distant and weak. But have hope, dear friends! All of the wickedness of the wicked ones will be paid in full in a final judgment. The very schemes and traps they have laid will ultimately trap them. Their fate is set in the weighty Stone of Scripture.
And us? If we are right, declared right and do right, we will find ourselves choosing safe paths and wise directions, escaping merely because we reside inside the Judge of all the earth. Let’s lean into the righteousness of our Refuge. Let’s let Him guide us. Let’s use His Word to guide us to safety, the safety needed to secure our souls.
