Proverbs 11:4, “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.”
Friends, I’m not trying to be a downer, I’m just hoping to offer honest warning. Scripture is replete with warning against an end-times judgment, one so all-encompassing that even Jesus said that only the restricted time of seven years would prevent total destruction. Many wealthy people worry about this and plan for this. The reality of the threat causes them to build doomsday shelters or buy a berth in an underground bunker on a remote island.
But the wise writer of Proverbs reminds us that true safety is only found by being in right standing with the Judge. “Righteousness delivers from death” is not possible without being declared right by the One completely in charge. Let’s be wise, friends. Let’s plan. Let’s crawl inside the Ark of Safety, Jesus, and find our Refuge in God (Psalm 46:1)
