Is “putting off” the first step? Must I first shed the old in order to prepare for the new? Must I be emptied before I am filled?
Paul says yes! “Do not lie one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man…” ((Col. 3:9,10a). To leave an old life and old habits behind, I must make a decision first. Am I willing to put off an old way of life in order to embrace a new one?
“LORD, may I be yielded to Your growth plan: leaving behind the old me and clothing myself with the new me! Amen.”
