How do I walk? I mean, where do I find enough light to see the path in front of me? How do I prevent stumbling? Is there a consistent and dependable light for my life?
Jesus says that there is. “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you might become sons of light.” (John 12:35-36) It appears that Jesus, in this veiled reference about Himself, is claiming to be that Light needed to illuminate humanity’s path forward.
But how do I access this light? It looks like it is turned on by active faith. I have the light if I believe in the light, which then lights my own personal candle. The Light Jesus, in me, ignites my own light.
So how do I see my path forward? I do this through the belief in Jesus the Light changing me into a child of light.
